Account and access

  • Do I need an account to use Langualy?

You do. Signing up is required, and it is what keeps your progress from one day to the next.

  • I forgot my password. What now?

On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot my password”. You will get an email with a link to create a new one.

  • Can I change my display name?

    Yes, under Profile and settings.

  • How do I delete my account?

Under Profile and settings, in the delete account option. The app asks for confirmation and shows on that same screen how long the account can still be recovered.

  • What is the minimum age?

Eighteen. Content may include slang and adult expressions when they are relevant to learning, always with the matching label.

Studying and the daily session

  • What does a daily session look like?

First you discover new words until you hit the goal for the day. Then come the reviews that spaced repetition has made due.

  • Can I choose which words to study?

No. The order is fixed, from the most used words to the least used — that is what guarantees every sentence only uses vocabulary you have already seen.

  • Can I change the daily goal?

    Yes, under Profile and settings.

  • What is My Vocabulary?

It is the sum of the words you declared you already knew and the words you learned in the app that met the consolidation criteria.

  • I missed a day. Do I lose my progress?

No. The day streak restarts, but no word is lost and there is no penalty for being late.

  • Can I study more than once a day?

You can. After the goal you keep reviewing, and you can discover new words if you want to.

  • What language is the app interface in?

Brazilian Portuguese at launch. The language you study is American English; Spanish and French appear as what comes next, with no date yet.

Exercises

  • What are the four exercises?

Reading, shadowing (speaking), dictation (listening) and writing. Every word has independent progress in each of them.

  • How do I choose between Again, Hard, Good and Easy?

In reading, you choose according to how much effort the answer took, and each button shows how long until the word comes back. In dictation, shadowing and sentence writing, the rating comes out of the correction itself.

  • Does the app correct my written sentence?

It does. You write the English sentence and what you meant in Portuguese, and an artificial intelligence service assesses both: whether the English is correct and whether it conveys your intention. On items with no sentence, where you simply write the word, you rate yourself and nothing leaves the device.

  • How is dictation corrected?

The comparison happens on your device, word by word. Capitals, final punctuation and repeated spaces are ignored; a one-letter difference shows up as a likely typo.

  • Can I go back to the previous card?

    Yes, within the same session.

  • What happens if I skip an item?

It comes back in another session. Skipping does not penalise the spaced repetition calculation.

Audio

  • Where does the audio come from?

Words and sentences have official audio prepared before publication. No voice is generated during the session.

  • Can I listen more slowly?

Not yet. In this version the audio only plays at normal speed.

  • Can I turn off autoplay?

    Yes, under Profile and settings.

  • The audio will not play. What should I do?

Check the volume, your device’s silent mode and your connection. If it persists, write to us and tell us which exercise it happens in.

Notifications

  • What notifications does Langualy send?

A daily reminder at the time you choose, and a heads-up when reviews are available.

  • How do I turn notifications off?

Under Profile and settings, or directly in your device settings.

  • I denied the permission. Can I allow it later?

You can. Open your device settings, find Langualy and turn notifications on.

Privacy and data

  • What does Langualy keep about me?

What learning needs to work: email, display name, progress per language, word states, ratings and preferences.

  • Are my voice recordings saved?

No. When you ask for the analysis, the recording is sent to a transcription service and comes back as text; neither the audio nor the transcript is stored. On the device, the file is deleted when you re-record, move on, skip or leave the exercise.

  • Are my texts and audio sent to other companies?

The sentence you write and the meaning in Portuguese go to the automated correction service; your shadowing recording goes to the transcription service. In both cases only the content of that exercise is sent — no name, no email, no history — and nothing is stored by us.

  • What about the sentences I write?

They do not become history. They are kept only while you are on that card and are discarded straight after — unless you dispute the correction, in which case the content is stored for our team to review.

  • Can I export my data?

    Yes, under Profile and settings.

  • How do I erase everything?

You can reset your progress or delete your account. Both options live under Profile and settings.

Technical problems

  • The app will not load the content.

Check your connection and try again. Session content is downloaded when the study starts.

  • I lost internet in the middle of a session.

The app tells you and picks up where you left off as soon as the connection returns.

  • The microphone does not work.

Check whether Langualy has microphone permission in your device settings. Without it you can skip shadowing at no cost at all.

  • I found a translation or audio mistake.

Write to us with the word and its position. Content fixes go out in the next updates.

  • How do I report a problem?

Use the support email and tell us what happened, your device model and your system version. The more specific, the faster we can help.
